Generate a 3D world
Turn an image, a set of angles, a walkthrough video, or a text prompt into an explorable 3D world you can walk through and export.
A 3D world turns a flat image, a few angles, a walkthrough video, or a text prompt into an explorable environment — a scene you can look around inside, walk through, and export. INTERSTITIAL generates worlds with World Labs’ Marble models.
When to use
- You want to step inside a scene instead of just looking at a render.
- You have a photo, a precedent, or a described space you’d like to explore in 3D.
- You want a walkthrough asset — a panorama, a 3D splat, or a mesh — to reuse elsewhere.
Add a world widget
- On the canvas toolbar, open the Add Element (+) menu.
- Choose 3D World.
- Click on the canvas to drop the widget where you want it.
The widget opens ready for input.
Set up the generation
Give the widget a title, then pick a mode from the segmented toggle:
- Normal — one optional Reference Image plus a text Prompt. The AI extrapolates a full environment from a single viewpoint. Fastest to set up.
- Multi-Image — 2 to 4 reference images placed at azimuth angles (front, right, back, left) for higher accuracy. Fill the Front slot first, then use Auto on an empty slot to generate that angle from the front image. A Reconstruct images toggle tells the AI to rebuild the space from your images rather than treat them as loose references.
- Video — upload a short walkthrough video of a real space (MP4, MOV, or WebM). For best results, rotate the camera most of the way around the space with steady movements, and avoid zoom or exposure changes.
For image and prompt modes, you can attach a reference by uploading it or picking one from the canvas, and the Auto button will draft an optimized prompt from your image.
Pick a model and Generate
Open the model picker in the widget header to choose a Marble model:
- Marble Draft — a fast draft, best for quick concepts and iteration.
- Marble 1.1 — high quality, with better lighting and fewer artifacts.
- Marble 1.1 Plus — premium dynamic, larger worlds; cost varies with world size.
The estimated cost shows next to the Generate button — costs vary by model, so check the figure in the widget and see Plans & Credits for specifics. Press the round Generate button (the black up-arrow) to start.
How generation works
The widget shows a generating state while the world builds. This can take anywhere from well under a minute to several minutes depending on the model — you can keep working elsewhere on the canvas. When it’s ready, a panorama preview appears in a panel beside the widget. Each generation is kept, so you can switch between attempts or start a fresh one.
Explore the world
The ready panel starts in Pano view — drag to look around the panorama. Use the Pano / 3D toggle to switch into the full 3D splat, where you can move freely:
- Left-drag — look around
- Right-drag — pan
- Scroll — move forward and back
- WASD (or arrow keys) — walk
- Q / E — turn left and right
- Space / C — move up and down
- Shift — move faster; Ctrl — move slower
Overlay buttons let you change rendering quality, reset the camera to the start, and open a controls help card.
Open the fullscreen viewer
Use the fullscreen control on the ready panel to open the world on its own full-page viewer. There you get the same navigation plus browser fullscreen (press F), and Esc takes you back.
Export the world
Open the export menu (the download icon) in the ready panel or the fullscreen viewer to download:
- Panorama — a JPEG image.
- 3D Splat — the gaussian splat file (SPZ).
- Mesh — a collider mesh (GLB).
Tips
- Start with Mini. Iterate on prompt and framing with the fast draft, then regenerate with Plus once you like the result.
- A clear single image goes a long way in Normal mode — try that before reaching for Multi-Image.
- For Multi-Image, nail the Front slot first, then let Auto fill the other angles.
- Steady video wins. A smooth 180–360° pan reconstructs far better than a shaky clip.
