Share a project
Send a project to someone with a link or share it directly with your Studio — copy links that duplicate the project, view links, and edit links that invite someone into your live canvas.
You can hand a project to someone else two ways — a link anyone can open, or a direct share with people in your Studio.
When to use
- A client should see the current state of a project without being able to change it.
- A colleague should work in it with you, live on the same canvas.
- You want to give someone a starting point they can take away and develop on their own.
Open the share dialog
- Go to Projects.
- Hover the card of a project you own and click the share icon.
- The Share project dialog opens.
The share icon only appears on projects you own. Projects shared with you show a Shared by {name} badge instead and can’t be re-shared or deleted by you.
Share with a link
The Public link section has three link types. Pick one, click Generate link, then Copy.
| Link type | What the recipient gets | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| Copy | Their own duplicate of the project, in their account. Yours is untouched and the two never sync. | Never |
| View | Read-only access to your live project. They see your changes as you make them. | 30 days |
| Edit | Editor access to your live project. They can change it alongside you. | 30 days |
- Each type keeps its own separate link — generating an Edit link doesn’t disturb the Copy link you already sent.
- Once a link has been used, the dialog shows “Used N times.”
- Revoke turns a link off. For a Copy link that’s the end of it. For View and Edit links, revoking stops new people from joining, but anyone who already used the link keeps their access — remove them individually under Currently shared.
Share directly with your Studio
Below the link section:
- Org members lists everyone in your Studio. Type to filter by name or email, then click a person to select them.
- Set Share as to Editor or Viewer at the bottom.
- Click Share with N.
Currently shared lists everyone who already has access. Each row has an Editor / Viewer control to change their role and an × to remove them.
Direct sharing only works with people who are in a Studio with you. If you’re not in one, the section reads “Create or join a studio to share with members.” — see Studios & teams. To reach someone outside your Studio, use a link instead.
What the recipient sees
- They must be signed in with a verified email address. If they’re signed out, the link is remembered and applied automatically once they finish signing up.
- Copy links land them in the editor on their own new copy, with the message “Project copied to your account!”
- View / Edit links open your project, with a banner across the top telling them whose project it is and what they’re allowed to do. See Work together live.
- If you open your own link, nothing is duplicated — you just get “You already own this project” and your project opens.
Limits
- Up to 25 people can have access to one project. Past that, sharing is refused until you remove someone.
- People receiving a Copy link need a free project slot on their plan — on the free Blueprint tier that’s 2 projects total.
- Up to 5 people can be inside the same project at the same time. A 6th can watch but not edit until a slot frees up.
If a link doesn’t work, the page says why: it was revoked, it expired, the project was deleted, the recipient hit their project limit, or the project reached its share limit.
Tips
- Use Copy for handovers and View/Edit for ongoing work. A copy can’t accidentally overwrite your original.
- Prefer direct sharing inside a Studio — you can change or remove someone’s access at any time, per person.
- Treat an Edit link like a key. Anyone who opens it can change your project, whether or not they’re in your Studio.
