Share a project
Invite studio members to a project as Editor or Viewer, or hand out a View, Edit or Duplicate link to anyone else. Covers the share panel, what each role and link type allows, expiry, and what revoking a link does.
There are two ways to let someone into a project, and they answer different questions.
- People with access — name individuals. Best when you know exactly who should be in, and you want to be able to take them out again.
- Links — hand out a URL. Best when you don’t know everyone by name, or the person isn’t in your studio.
Only the project’s owner can share it.
When to use
- A colleague needs to work on the project alongside you.
- A client should see the project, but not change it.
- Someone outside your studio needs a look, or their own copy to take away.
Open the share panel
- In the editor — the Share project button, top-right of the canvas.
- From the project list — the share button on the project’s card.
Both open the same Share project panel. The ? button in its header explains every role and link type without leaving the panel.
Add people by name
Type a name in the picker and choose a role:
- Editor — changes the project with you, live. You see each other’s cursors and edits as they happen.
- Viewer — opens and looks. Can’t change anything.
You can change someone’s role, or remove them, at any time from the row.
Only studio members can be added here. Anyone else needs a link. A project holds at most 25 people.
Share by link
Open Create link and pick a type. They’re listed least-permissive first:
| Link | What the recipient can do | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| View link | Open and look at the project. | After 30 days |
| Edit link | Change the project alongside you. | After 30 days |
| Duplicate link | Take their own copy. Yours is untouched. | Never |
A link works for everyone you send it to, not just the first person, and keeps working until it expires or you revoke it.
Each link you create gets its own row showing when it expires and how many times it’s been used, with a button to copy it and a menu to revoke it. You can have one of each type live at once.
View and Edit links add people to the list above as they’re opened, so you can see who came in and change or remove them individually. Duplicate links don’t — once someone has taken a copy, it’s their project, not a shared view of yours.
Revoke a link
Revoking stops the link working for anyone who hasn’t used it yet. What it doesn’t do is claw back access already granted:
- View / Edit links — people who already opened it keep their access. Remove them under People with access if you want them out.
- Duplicate links — copies people already made are theirs to keep. There is nothing to revoke on their side.
Tips
- Prefer naming people over a link when you can. It’s the only way to remove someone later.
- Send a Duplicate link when you want someone to build on your work without touching yours — a template, or a hand-off.
- A View link is not a secret. Anyone the URL reaches can open the project, so treat it as public within its 30 days.
- Revoke before you expect to. Expiry is a backstop, not a plan.
