Studios & teams
Create a Studio, invite members, set roles and library access, and manage seats — plus what happens to your credits when you join, and how to leave or delete a Studio.
A Studio is a shared team account. Members share a credit pool, a shared Asset Library, and the ability to share projects with each other directly.
When to use
- Several people at one office should draw from one budget instead of separate personal plans.
- You want a shared library of approved reference material and logos.
- You need to see who used what across the team.
Create a Studio
- Open the profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Choose Create a studio.
- Give it a name (2 to 80 characters) and click Create studio.
You land on the Studio settings page as the owner.
You can belong to one Studio at a time. The sidebar shows which Studio you’re in and your role in it, with a link straight to its settings.
Roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including transferring ownership and deleting the Studio. One per Studio. |
| Admin | Invite and remove members, promote and demote, manage seats and library access, export usage. |
| Member | Use the Studio’s credits and library, and share projects with other members. |
Owner isn’t something you can be invited as — it moves only by Transfer ownership.
Invite people
In Studio settings, enter an email address, pick Admin or Member, and click Send invite. Admins and the owner can invite.
Pending invites lists everything outstanding with Resend and Revoke buttons. An invite is good for 30 days.
The recipient opens the link, signs in (or signs up — the invite is remembered through signup), and joins.
What joining does to your personal plan
Joining a Studio moves you onto the Studio’s billing. Before you join, you’re shown exactly what will happen and asked to confirm:
- Your remaining personal credits are swept into the Studio’s shared pool. The dialog shows the amount.
- Your personal subscription is cancelled.
If you have no subscription and no credits left, there’s nothing to sweep and you join straight away. Your projects are not affected either way.
Manage members
The Members table in Studio settings holds one row per person, with the controls your role allows:
- Promote to admin / Demote to member
- Transfer ownership — owner only
- Remove — takes someone out of the Studio
- Leave studio — for yourself, if you’re not the owner
- Pause / resume — suspend someone’s access without removing them
- Seat tier — Contributor, Pro or Max
- Library access — see below
Usage (last 30 days) shows a per-member breakdown, exportable as CSV by admins and the owner.
Studio library access
Each plain member gets a library access level, set from the Library dropdown on their row. Owners and admins always have full access.
| Level | Can do in the Studio library |
|---|---|
| No access | Nothing — the Studio library is hidden. |
| Contributor | Add assets. |
| Editor | Add assets, and delete the ones they added. (default) |
| Manager | Add, delete anything, and moderate the library. |
A member whose level was never set is an Editor. Paused members lose library access until they’re resumed.
Seats
Seats come in three tiers — Contributor, Pro and Max — and each carries its own monthly credit balance on top of the shared pool. Moving a member to a different seat swaps which seat they occupy; the seat they leave keeps its balance for whoever takes it next. Everyone in the Studio can see who holds which seat.
Leaving a Studio
When you leave or are removed:
- Access other members had given you to their projects is revoked automatically.
- Assets you added to the Studio library stay with the Studio.
- Your own projects stay yours.
The owner can’t just leave. Transfer ownership to another member first — until then, the Leave button is disabled and says so.
Deleting a Studio
Only an owner with no other members left can delete a Studio. Remove everyone first; until then the Delete button is disabled and explains why.
Deleting walks through the consequences that apply, one screen at a time:
- Credits — any balance left in the shared pool, top-ups and seat balances is forfeited. It can’t be refunded or moved.
- Library — everything in the Studio library, including its trash, is deleted permanently. Copies people saved to their personal libraries are kept.
- Confirm — you type
deleteto enable the button.
Your projects are not affected. Deleting a Studio cannot be undone.
Tips
- Sweep is one-way. Spend down personal credits before joining a Studio if you’d rather not pool them.
- Use Pause, not Remove, for someone on leave — pausing keeps their seat and history intact.
- Transfer ownership before anyone leaves for good, so a Studio never ends up with an absent owner.
